Why America will struggle to confront al Qaeda in Afghanistan. The Taliban has ideological rationale to enable the group. Al Qaeda has learned from its prior experiences. And presence matters.
Kabul airport or otherwise, all roads now run through the Taliban. The new government will decide what the Biden administration can and cannot do.
